I’m not the friend who will sugar

coat thing's for you. I won’t tell you that it’s all going to be ok if I know in my heart it’s not. If you're being an ass, I won't pretend like you’re bad for it and I will give you your space. I’m not the friend that will lie to you. Sometimes I may seem harsh but I do it because I care. You will never question if what I am saying is true because if you’re my friend I want your trust and you need my honesty. You will always know where I stand and if that’s too much real then I'm not the friend for you.

I am not that friend who will use you to get in on the gossip or belong to some sort of fake social circle. If you want to be my friend because you think it will benefit you in some way, I am not your friend. I am not the friend who will chase you; your friendship is a choice. I am not the friend who will fake it till I make it. Life is too full of fake friendships and people for me to waste my time pretending to be your friend, so if I give you my time I expect it to be valued. Friendship is a perk not a chore.

I am not the friend who will hold your flaws against you and if you hold mine against me; you’re something more than just not my friend. I’m not the friend who promises to be perfect. I’m not going to tell you I’m ok when I’m not. I will mess up, I won’t call, I’ll forget to text back, I’ll be moody; but I am real. I am not that friend who tells your secrets and if you tell mine, there’s a special place in hell for that behavior.

Most importantly, I am not that friend who needs friendship so bad that I am willing to compromise who I am to stay. I’ll give you the shirt off my back but as soon as you turn your back on me; I will be the friend who walks away, no questions asked.
